Dynamics 365 Business Central

Hi, Readers.
The preview environment for Dynamics 365 Business Central 2022 release wave 1 (BC20) is available. Learn more: Link

I will continue to test and share some new features that I hope will be helpful.

Check documents and journals in while you work:

Business value:

To alert you about issues with data in documents and journals that can prevent you from posting, we’ve introduced validations that identify issues right away. Early, unobtrusive visual indications that there is a problem can help improve productivity and save time.

Let’s see more details.
On the General Ledger Setup page, click Show more in General group.

You can find a new setup, Enable Data Check in Business Central 2022 wave 1 (BC20).

Enable Data Check
Specifies whether Business Central will validate the data you enter in documents and journals while you work. Messages will be shown in the Journal Check FactBox.

If the Enable Data Check toggle is enabled on the General Ledger Setup page, a notification will display on documents where the check document capability is available.

For example, On the Sales Order.

Start validating data in documents and journals while you work. Messages are shown in the Document Check FactBox.

If you choose Enable this for me in the notification.

The Document Check FactBox will appear, and Business Central will start checking the document for issues while you enter information.

The issue checked here are mainly those that may occur when posting.
For example:

You can choose the Issues Total tile to open an overview of the issues.

These issues are usually not noticed until posting, but with this new feature, you can know in advance and correct them to make posting smoother.

In addition to documents, this feature is also available on journals, which is very convenient.
For example, General Journals.

So excited feature, give it a try!!!😁

1. The Journal Check FactBox is always enabled for journals. You can hide the FactBox by personalizing the page.

2. If you want to stop using Document Check you can turn off the Show the Document Check FactBox toggle on the My notifications page.

3. You must have the Feature: Check documents and journals while you work feature enabled in the Feature Management page to use this capability.
