If you are the notification recipients of Business Central, you might have received the notification emails from Microsoft Dynamics 365.

Yes, the major update of Dynamics 365 Business Central 2025 release wave 1 (BC26) is available for existing customers. (Dates differ across countries and regions)

An update to your environment is scheduled for May 9, 2025

We’ve scheduled your Dynamics 365 Business Central environment Sandbox255 to update to version 26.0.

Current version: 25.5
Available version: 26.0
Scheduled date: on or after May 9, 2025
Update window (UTC): 11:00:00 AM to 9:00:00 PM
Last reschedulable date: September 1, 2025

You can choose to reschedule this update from the scheduled date to any date between today and the last reschedulable date. To start the update immediately, schedule for today, and then select the field to allow the update to run outside the update window.
To manage this update, open the Dynamics 365 Business Central admin center for this tenant.

In Business Central Admin Center:

Now you can set update date for the existing environment.

An update to version 26.0.30643.32100 is available. Updates will begin on 2025/5/9. You may schedule a date for the update on the Update action list. Go toBusiness Central Updates for more information.

And in Message center:

Choose Update Settings -> Set update date.

Or click Modify after the update date.

Last day to apply update is 2025.08.31 in all environment. (Microsoft-localized environments and W1 environments)

The date in the notification email is in UTC time.

A simple test: BC25.5 -> BC26.0

The environment has been updated to version 26.0 successfully

And in Operations, you can find an environment operation log for this update.

After the major update is complete, you will receive the following notification email.

When an object is marked as obsolete, another 12 months will pass before the code is removed, in some cases even longer. More details: Link

2. You can check the Update Rollout State in Admin center.
Active: Updates are being performed
Postponed: Updates are temporarily paused, will be resumed soon. (It is a good idea to change the update date)
