If you are the notification recipients of Business Central, you might have received the notification emails from Microsoft Dynamics 365.

Yes, the major update of Dynamics 365 Business Central 2026 release wave 1 (BC28) is available for existing customers. (Dates differ across countries and regions)

An update to your environment is scheduled for May 8, 2026
We’ve scheduled your Dynamics 365 Business Central environment, Production, to update to version 28.0.

Current version: 27.5
Scheduled update version: 28.0
Scheduled date: May 8, 2026
Update window (UTC): Between 11:30 and 21:00 (Tokyo Standard Time)

You can reschedule this update for any date within the update period or choose a different version to update your environment to next.
To manage this update, go to the Business Central Admin Center.

In Business Central Admin Center:

Now you can set update date for the existing environment.

Choose Update Settings -> Set update date.

Or click Modify after the update date.

PS: Learn about what’s new in version 28.0 here. The update must be scheduled to run before Sep 01, 2026 09:00 AM (UTC+09:00).

Last day to apply update is 2026.09.01 in all environment. (Microsoft-localized environments and W1 environments)

PS: Please note that there might be a one-day difference due to our respective time zones.

A simple test: BC27.5 -> BC28.0

The environment has been updated to version 28.0 successfully
