I will continue to test and share some new features that I hope will be helpful.
This is a small improvement that was not mentioned in the 2022 Release Wave1 Plan, Change the names of customers/vendors on open sales and purchases (Disable Search by Name).
I found it by chance.
In Business Central 2022 wave 1 (BC20), you can find a new Disable Search by Name setup in Sales & Receivales Setup page and Purchases & Payables Setup page.
Disable Search by Name
Specifies that you can change the names of customers on open sales documents. The change applies only to the documents.
Disable Search by Name
Specifies that you can change the names of vendors on open purchase documents. The change applies only to the documents.
As you know, in the standard feature, if we change the customer name on the order, the following dialog box will be displayed. If you select an existing customer, it will prompt an error that the customer does not exist.
Now, we can change the names of customers on open sales documents and purchase documents. And we can also control whether changes are allowed through this setting.
Let’s do a simple test.
