Hi, Readers.
Dynamics 365 Business Central 2025 wave 2 (BC27) is generally available. More details: General Available: Dynamics 365 Business Central 2025 release wave 2 (BC27).
I will continue to test and share some new features that I hope will be helpful. In this post, I would like to talk about Install UK localization as an extension to the base app.
Install UK localization as an extension to the base app:
Business value:
The upgraded localized version for the United Kingdom is available as an extension.
Removing country-based customizations from the base app helps organizations save time and reduce costs during implementation. This change benefits organizations that operate in multiple regions with different regulations by making it easier to build PTEs and connect environments. Delocalization also helps organizations access ISV solutions without restrictions.

This version includes a data upgrade feature to simplify the transition from the previous localization. This release moves the product closer to full delocalization, so ISVs can reach a wider market. Some features move to the base app or become global apps, while others stay specific to the GB market. For example, in version V27 W1, you can already find the Posting Date Check on Posting setting in Sales & Receivables Setup, but because this extension cannot be installed in version W1, it cannot be used.😑

Another example:

The extension is not available for your country. Check country availability in the AppSource marketplace.

Starting with the 2025 release wave 2 (v27), the UK localization is updated to work as a set of extensions on top of the W1 Base App. For the next three releases, you can choose whether to enable the new features. After this period, the previous features will be deprecated, and the new localization will automatically be enabled.
Great. Give it a try!!!😁
PS: In Business Central 2026 release wave 1 (BC28), Microsoft is also preparing to extract Manufacturing and Service Management as extensions.

It appears that this has been implemented since version 27.2.

END
Hope this will help.
Thanks for reading.
