Hi, Readers.
From Business Central 2022 wave 2 (BC21), Microsoft brought us an exciting news for Business Central. Microsoft Teams users will be able to access Business Central data, regardless of whether they have a Business Central license.
More details: Access Business Central with your Microsoft 365 license – regardless of whether users have a Business Central license (Collaboration capabilities for Dynamics 365)
The license of the Microsoft Teams users is Microsoft 365.
This user can now access Business Central data directly in Teams without a Business Central license. (Microsoft 365 licenses don’t grant rights to edit, delete, or create new records)
This requires enabling the following feature in the Business Central Admin Center.
In this post, I would like to share another mini tip, how to set up access to Business Central with Microsoft 365 licenses within BC (Not in Admin Center).
Choose the Tell me icon, enter Set up access with Microsoft 365 Licenses, and then choose the related link.
Or choose Settings -> Assisted setup -> Access data with Microsoft 365 licenses
This will open a new navigation page, choose Next.
Then you can choose Configuration permissions to set default Permission Sets for the Microsoft 365 license type. If using the default settings, choose Don’t restrict access.
Choose Enable.
You can choose who gets access via security group, this needs to be set in the admin center. If no settings are required, choose Skip.
Then you can deploy the Business Central app for Teams. If you select “Go to guided deployment,” another navigation page will open.
Teams App Centralized Deployment:
This can also be found in Assisted Setup.
Finally, choose Done to complete the setup.
If you then return to Assisted Setup and Admin Center, you will see that the feature is now enabled.
Great. Give it a try!!!😁

PS: Please note that this feature cannot be disabled with BC.

Hope this will help.
Thanks for reading.
