Hi, Readers.
Today I would like to talk about how to merge multiple lots into one in Business Central.
Keep track of inventory items, even in complex warehouse configurations, by assigning numbers that are specific to each item. You can use numbers for individual objects, lots, or packages.
You can assign serial numbers, lot numbers, and package numbers to outbound and inbound documents. The posted item tracking entries display on the related item ledger entries. You track items on the Item Tracking Lines page, which you can open from inbound or outbound documents.
For example, on the Purchase Order:

You can view the lot-level inventory of the selected item by choosing Item Availability by -> Lot on the Item List page.

I was recently asked if it’s possible to merge multiple lots into one.
Yes, there is a simple way to do this—all you need to use is the Item Reclassification Journal.

To change attributes on item ledger entries, use an item reclassification journal. Typical attributes to reclassify include dimensions and sales campaign codes. You can also use reclassification journals for transfers by reclassifying bin and location codes.

Let’s see more details.
Fill in the line with the relevant information, for example Document No., Item No., Location Code and so on.

Choose the Item Tracking Lines action.

In the Lot Nos. (Serial Nos.) field, select the current lot number (serial number).

If you want to enter a new item tracking number, enter it in the New Lot No. field. If you want, you can merge one or more lots to one new or existing lot. For example, I want to merge LOT0007 and LOT0006 into LOT0002.

You can adjust the quantity in Quantity (Base). Once you confirm everything is correct, choose Close.

Then, you can preview the posted Item Ledger Entries to ensure that the quantities have been adjusted correctly.

Finally, choose the Post action to finalize and complete this merge operation.

Then, just head back to Item Availability by Lot No. page to double-check the merged quantities.

Clicking on Inventory will show the details.

Great, give it a try!!!😁
END
Hope this will help.
Thanks for reading.
