Hi, Readers.
Today I would like to share another mini tip about Business Central, how to hide and show list views.
As you know, when you have set a filter on a list and you want to keep the filter for later, you can save it as a view. (Views are only available on list pages)

If you’re saving a new view, enter a name for the view in the All (Copy) box. If you don’t give it a name, it will be named All (Copy).

You can define and save as many views as you want per list. The views will be available the next time you open the list, from any device or browser.

As the number of views on a page grows, you might need more control over how views are presented in the filter pane. You can choose the arrowhead next to a view, and then choose Remove, or Hide.

Since we cannot remove the preset views, we can choose to hide them instead.

PS: What is the difference between hiding and removing views?
Removing a view will permanently delete that view. Hiding a view allows you to temporarily hide it from the filter pane, but you can unhide it again later by choosing the Show action.

I was recently asked an interesting question: after hiding the views, the user couldn’t find the ‘Show‘ action to bring them back. Let’s do a simple test.
First, I hid two of the views.

Then you will notice that the views have disappeared, and there seems to be no way to show them again.

The solution is actually very straightforward. We just need to make it visible again through the Personalization mode.

Choose Show.

Done.

Very simple, give it a try!!!😁
PS:
1. You can also reset the views via Clear personalization -> Only Filtered Views/All, but be aware that the views you added will be permanently deleted.
