Hi, Readers.
Dynamics 365 Business Central 2026 wave 1 (BC28.2) is generally available. More details: Cumulative Update Summary for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (June, 2026)
I will continue to test and share some new features that I hope will be helpful. In this post, I would like to talk about Power BI Report Deployments.
It’s easy to get insights into your Business Central data with Power BI – a data visualization system from Microsoft.

Power BI retrieves Business Central data so that you can build dashboards and reports based on that data.

Power BI provides a flexible alternative to reports built in Business Central, enabling you drill down and customise the visualisation, and even merge data from different companies in Business Central. Some Power BI reports can also be embedded in Business Central and viewed without leaving the system. More complex dashboards are better experienced from the Power BI web site.

Microsoft has recently provided standard Power BI apps. Power BI apps are available for the following functional areas in Business Central:
- Finance
- Inventory
- Inventory Valuation
- Manufacturing
- Projects
- Purchasing
- Sales
- Subsscription Billing
- Sustainability

Previously, although we could centrally manage Power BI apps through the Power BI Reports Setup page, we still had to install each one manually. More details: Install Power BI apps for Business Central

With this latest update, Microsoft has introduced a new page that allows us to centrally manage Power BI apps, Power BI Report Deployments page. Let’s see more details.
Select Search (Alt+Q) in the upper-right corner, enter Power BI Report Deployments, and then choose the related link.

Power BI Report Deployments (6347, List):

Please note that, as of now, the functionality of this page is only available in evaluation companies.
About Power BI report deployments
Deploy Power BI reports to your workspace, update them when new versions are available, and retry deployments that have failed. This experience is only available in evaluation companies.

You can select multiple reports and then choose the Deploy action to deploy them to your Power BI Workspace.

lly, the Deployment Status will change to Queued.

You can choose Reload to refresh the Deployment Status.

Done.

You can click on the Deployment Status to view the detailed deployment steps.

And at this point, you can navigate to the Power BI Reports Setup page and find that the Power BI Apps have been successfully installed.

PS:
1. You can choose Retry to reset the failed deployment and retry from scratch.

2. You can choose Download PBIX to download the PBIX file for the selected report.
