Dynamics 365 Business Central

Hi, Readers.
Dynamics 365 Business Central 2025 wave 2 (BC27) is generally available. More details: General Available: Dynamics 365 Business Central 2025 release wave 2 (BC27).

I will continue to test and share some new features that I hope will be helpful. In this post, I would like to talk about Access open-sourced Power BI apps.

Access open-sourced Power BI apps:

Business value:

By open-sourcing the remaining Power BI apps for sales, purchasing, and projects, businesses now have complete access to the code for all standard Business Central Power BI apps. This means you can fully customize semantic models and reports to match your unique processes, KPIs, and reporting needs. Instead of starting from scratch, you can build on high-quality, ready-made models and visualizations, saving significant development time and effort. This flexibility empowers teams to create tailored insights, improve decision-making, and ensure reporting aligns perfectly with business goals. Ultimately, it accelerates adoption of data-driven practices across your organization.

        }

2. In Power BI: First you need to install the new version of the Power BI apps, for example
https://appsource.microsoft.com/en-us/marketplace/apps?search=business%20central%2027.0&page=1

Open Power BI:

Then find the new app in Power BI and click Edit.

Then click on the report app that needs to be edited.

You can edit this report directly or download it as a .pbix file.

Please note that the View mode cannot export .pbix files and edit the report.

You can change the Power BI semantic models and reports to fit your business needs now.
