Hi, Readers.

I will continue to test and share some new features that I hope will be helpful.

Edit price lists in Excel:

Business value:
Sales price lists can be long and complex documents that require maintenance. Plus, many businesses have complex rules for how to create and update prices. Editing price lists in Excel makes complex calculations easier for your salespeople.

In Business Central, the Edit in Excel action is available on most lists, but not all.

With the Edit in Excel action, you make changes to records in Excel and then publish the changes back to Business Central. When Excel opens, you’ll see the Excel Add-in pane on the right. More details: Viewing and Editing in Excel From Business Central

In previous versions, Microsoft also worked on adding supported pages, for example.

With this wave (BC26), you can edit lines on the Sales Price List page in Excel by using the Edit in Excel action. Please note that this feature is for new sales pricing experience, you can turn on the Feature Update: New sales pricing experience on the Feature Management page for all users, and start using the new pricing experience. More details about New sales pricing experience.

Let’s see more details. Choose the Tell me icon, enter , and then choose the related link.

PS: If Feature Update: New sales pricing experience is not enabled on the Feature Management page, the following error will be prompted

In 2020 release wave 2, Microsoft released streamlined processes for setting up and managing prices and discounts. If you’re a new customer using that version, you’re using the new experience. If you’re an existing customer, whether you’re using the new experience depends on whether your admin enabled the New sales pricing experience feature update on the Feature Management page. To learn more, go to Enabling Upcoming Features Ahead of Time.

Then create a new price list or open an existing one.

You can edit lines on the Sales Price List page in Excel by using the Edit in Excel action.

After you edit a price list in Excel, it’s easy to publish the updated list to Business Central.

PS: In BC25.5 and previous versions

Small update, but it makes life easier. Give it a try!!!😁

END

Hope this will help.

Thanks for reading.
