Hi, Readers.
Today I would like to share another mini tip about Business Central, how to show or hide Summarize with Copilot Factbox.
Summarize with Copilot is a new capability of Copilot in Business Central 2025 wave 1 (BC26).

Note
This feature isn’t in the version 26 preview for sandboxes available in March 2025. Try it with the 26.0 release or later.

A new summary FactBox displays on card and document pages, such as a Customer, Sales Order, Item, and even your custom pages.

Recently I was asked a question, how to hide this Factbox? As you might know, Business Central offers several features for developers, application administrators, and end-users, that can be used to customize the pages that users work with in the client. For example, in Personalization, we can hide or show Factboxes on the page.

But it does not work for Summarize with Copilot FactBox.

In fact, this is not difficult, but Microsoft has changed the way it handles it. Just click on the … button in the lower right corner of the Summarize with Copilot FactBox and choose Hide Copilot summary.

Summarize with Copilot FactBox will be hidden.

To show it, click … in the upper right corner of the Factbox area and choose Summary.

Summarize with Copilot FactBox will show.

And because the Summary part is in the FactBox pane, it’s hidden if the FactBox pane is collapsed.

To show the FactBox pane, select the Shows the Expand FactBox pane icon to expand the FactBox pane.

If you need to disable this feature for all users, you can deactivate it in Copilot & agent capabilities. For example,

Summarize with Copilot FactBox can still be displayed, but the following error will be prompted.
You’re missing out! The Summary feature isn’t activated in your Business Central. System administrators can configure Copilot features from this page. (Copilot & agent capabilities page)

If you want to disable or enable this feature for a subset of users, you can use the newly added system permission, Allow Copilot Summary. More details: Business Central 2025 wave 1 (BC26): New permission set (Copilot System Features) – grant or deny Copilot permissions for individual users

Users without permission will not be able to see the Summarize with Copilot FactBox and will not be able to show it.

Very simple, give it a try!!!😁
PS:
1. Show or hide the summary
2. What’s new: Summarize with Copilot
END
Hope this will help.
Thanks for reading.
