Hi, Readers.
Today I would like to share another mini tip about Business Central, how to export data to Excel in analysis mode.
Data analysis mode was introduced as a public preview feature in 2023 release wave 1 for analyzing list pages and generally available in Business Central 2023 release wave 2 for analyzing data from list pages and queries. More details: Analyze, group, and pivot data on list pages using multiple tabs (In-client Analysis mode) and Analyze list page and query data using data analysis feature.

On the list page, we can export data to Excel through the Open in Excel or Edit in Excel feature. More details: Viewing and Editing in Excel From Business Central
PS:
With the Open in Excel action, you can make changes to the records in Excel, but you can’t publish the changes back to Business Central. You can only save the changes to Excel file, without affecting data in Business Central.
The Edit in Excel action is available on most lists, but not all. With the Edit in Excel action, you make changes to records in Excel and then publish the changes back to Business Central. When Excel opens, you’ll see the Excel Add-in pane on the right.

But in analysis mode, there is no such actions, so how do we export the current data to Excel?

This is not difficult, there are two ways.
1. Right-click on the data area or a selection of cells to export data.

2. Click the name of the Analysis tab and choose Open in Excel

The file names and styles are slightly different, but the data is the same. Give it a try!!!😁

Hope this will help.
