Business Central 2024 wave 2 (BC25.1): New URL parameter to change page layout (layout=analysis/list/talltiles/tiles)

Dynamics 365 Business Central

Hi, Readers.
Dynamics 365 Business Central 2024 wave 2 (BC25) is generally available. More details: General availability: Dynamics 365 Business Central 2024 release wave 2 (BC25). And Business Central 2024 wave 2 CU01 (BC25.1) has been released last week. More details: Cumulative Update Summary for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central(November, 2024)

I will continue to test and share some new features that I hope will be helpful.

In this post, I would like to talk about New URL parameter to change page layout in Business Central 2024 release wave 2 (BC25). This is not yet documented in the Business Central 2024 release wave 2 (BC25) release plan and AL Language extension changelog Version 14.0. But it is mentioned in Business Central Launch Event (2024 release wave 2), What’s new: Business Central user experience.

We briefly discussed the following two application examples before:
1. Dynamics 365 Business Central: How to hide the navigation bar, BC header (Tell Me, Notifications, My Settings), and action bar

2. Dynamics 365 Business Central: Filtering Data by the Web Client URL

This is actually all done through URL parameters. For example, Item List (31, List)

With this wave (BC25.1), Microsoft added new URL parameter (layout) to change page layout.

  • Analysis mode: analysis

Brief summary:

Great, when sharing a BC link, you can specify the mode (layout) in which the user opens the page now. Give it a try!!!😁
