Excel reports give you the underlying data that they’re based on, so that you can reformat the data to build a custom report—for example, to get a specific insight or for troubleshooting.
In Business Central 2022 wave 1 (BC20), Microsoft brought us a new layout type, no code or low code reporting with Excel layouts. More details: Business Central 2022 wave 1 (BC20) new features: Excel layouts for BC Reports
But in the past two years, Microsoft has not had any standard reports using Excel layout. Finally, in the last major release (BC24) Microsoft has added eight new Excel reports with new report layouts for finance, sales (customers), and purchases (vendors). (All report titles are suffixed with “(preview)”). More details: Business Central 2024 wave 1 (BC24): Use new Excel layouts for 35 selected reports (New standard Excel layout reports)
In this release (BC25) Microsoft has added four Excel report layouts that cover the consolidation and fixed assets areas:
- Consolidated Trial Balance (Preview)
- Fixed Asset Details (Preview)
- Fixed Asset Analysis (Preview)
- Fixed Asset Projected Value (Preview)
The report layouts are available through search and the Accountant home page.
The content of each report covers the content of one or more existing RDLC reports, and gives you the underlying data so you can create custom reports.
Great, give it a try!!!😁
