Hi, Readers.
The public preview for Dynamics 365 Business Central 2024 release wave 2 (BC25) is available. Learn more: Link.
I will continue to test and share some new features that I hope will be helpful.
In this post, I would like to talk about Hide lines with zero quantity in Standard Sales – Invoice (1306) report in Business Central 2024 release wave 2 (BC25). This is not yet documented in the Business Central 2024 release wave 2 (BC25) release plan and AL Language extension changelog Version 14.0
With this update, Microsoft has added a new option to the Standard Sales – Invoice (1306) report, Hide lines with zero quantity.
Hide lines with zero quantity
Specifies if the lines with zero quantity are printed.
This is a small update, but one I find very useful. Let’s see more details.
As you might know, Business Central supports partial shipments/invoices. In a partial shipment, an order isn’t all shipped at once. For example, from an order for 100 units, you ship 40 units immediately and 60 units later.
PS: Dynamics 365 Business Central: How to prohibit partial (split) shipment of orders
There are no limits on the number of shipments that can be made for an order. But there is a small problem here. When there are multiple lines in your order, but only some of them are posted, Sales Invoices Lines with a quantity of 0 will be generated. For example, the order below has 6 lines in total, but I only choose three of them to post.
Posted Sales Invoice: Lines with a quantity of 0 are also automatically created.
When the user prints the report, whether it is Word layout or RDLC layout, the lines with quantity 0 will also be printed.
If we want to solve this problem, we can only customize it in previous versions. Here is a similar example: Dynamics 365 Business Central: How to hide all comment lines in Standard Sales – Order Conf. (1305) report (Do not print comment lines) – Customization
Finally this problem was solved in BC25.0. As long as we check this new option, the lines with quantity 0 will be hidden.

Small update, but it makes life easier. Give it a try!!!😁
PS:
1. In BC24.5 and previous versions
2. This option is not added in Purchase – Invoice (406) report
END
Hope this will help.
Thanks for reading.
