Dynamics 365 Business Central SaaS/Cloud: How to set the password expiration policy

Dynamics 365 Business Central

Hi, Readers.
Today I would like to share another mini tip about Business Central, how to set the password expiration policy for your organization, this is not limited to Business Central but is also available for other Microsoft products.
As you know, with the release of Multifactor authentication (MFA), it is no longer necessary for users to update their passwords regularly. More details: Set up multifactor authentication (MFA) for Dynamics 365 Business Central
But if your organization wants to do it, of course it is possible. Let’s see more details.

In the Microsoft 365 admin center, go to the Org Settings page. If you aren’t a security admin, you won’t see this page.

In the Security and Privacy tab, choose Password expiration policy

On the Password expiration policy page, uncheck the box to change the password policy.

Type how often passwords should expire. Choose a number of days from 14 to 730 and select Save.

Note
This needs to be a number between 14 and 730

PS: In Microsoft Entra ID, The last password can’t be used again when the user changes a password. The password policy is applied to all user accounts that are created and managed directly in Microsoft Entra ID. This password policy can’t be modified. See Microsoft Entra password policies.

The user needs to update the password after the password expires.

Very simple, give it a try!!!😁

Hope this will help.
